DAMLATASH (Turkish – Damlataş Mağarası) is a cave in the center of Alanya, Turkey, at the Western foot of the Peninsula. This is a unique, fascinating cave, which is one of the most visited places during a holiday in Alanya. The cave was opened in 1948 during the work on the quarry. Here people can see the fantastic formation of colorful stalactites and stalagmites, whose age is about 14-15 thousand years. Artificial lighting makes them indescribably beautiful. They seem to be frozen forever. The temperature in the cave does not rise above +22-24ºC, and the composition of the air has a record content of carbon dioxide. Local doctors are sure that this combination helps to fight asthma and other lung diseases. Damlatash cave was previously open to visitors from 10.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. hours, and this summer the schedule of the cave is from 10.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. hours. The opening time of the cave was increased due to the growing popularity of this attraction among tourists.
