“I condemn the terrorist attacks targeting innocent people in churches and hotels in Eastern Sri Lanka. It doesn’t matter what the motive was. This heinous attack is like what happened in Christchurch, it is committed cowardly, barbaric and ruthless,” – the Foreign Minister of Turkey wrote on his Twitter page. It is known that at least two Turkish citizens were victims of terrorist acts in Sri Lanka.
Eight explosions occurred on Sunday in different parts of Sri Lanka, including three luxury hotels and churches in Colombo, as well as in two churches in the capital’s suburb of Negombo. According to the latest information, more than 200 people were killed. None of the extremist groups claimed responsibility for the attacks.
