AT the meeting, the President was accompanied by his wife Emine Erdogan. In his statement, the head of the Turkish state noted that the century-and-a-half friendship between Turkey and Japan has strengthened even more. Regep Tayyip Erdogan also stressed that Turkey believes in the extremely serious potential between the two countries in matters of politics, economy, as well as in the fields of culture and science, and said: “One of the most important projects planned between our countries is the Turkish-Japanese University of science and technology, which should be founded in Istanbul. We are making efforts to open it as soon as possible.” At a working dinner, Regep Tayyip Erdogan met with Japanese Prime Minister Sindzo Abe. In a statement to journalists, the President expressed his satisfaction with the visit to Japan. He thanked Abe for his hospitality and congratulated him on the successful holding of the G-20 summit in Osaka.
