THE laboratory will examine mummified remains of ancient civilizations dating from 10,000-15,000 years. Laboratory of molecular anthropology opened on the basis on Hacettepe University. According to the head of the anthropology Department of the University Selim Erdal, the laboratory of molecular anthropology (Ancient DNA Laboratory-HUMAN-G) will be the first of this kind in Turkey. He stressed that there are very few centers in the world that can carry out this kind of research. “For this reason, the presence of this laboratory in Turkey is of great importance. First, the laboratory will focus on the skeletons or mummified remains of people who lived in the past, research will be conducted using DNA analysis and using the latest technology”,  – Erdal says.

It is known, that the new anthropological laboratory will primarily study the remains of the Neolithic, Chalcolithic and Bronze age.
