THIS 14-meter vessel, loaded with copper ingots weighing 1.5 tons, was discovered by a research team of archaeologists from the Antalya Mediterranean University.
The Governor of Antalya Munir Karaoglu noted that this finding is a breakthrough in underwater archeology.
“The wreckage of the ship dates back about 1600 B.C. This ship was carrying the first industrial goods in the world,” – Karaoglu said.
According to scientists, the ship was heading to the Aegean sea and sank because of the storm.
